INUI 4 is the fourth volume in Makoto's series of occasional solo releases for VHF. While widely and rightly known for ear-splitting Deep Purple style guitar demolition with Acid Mothers Temple, Gong, etc, Kawabata's INUI works are highly personal and introspective, with lots of room given to cosmic atmosphere and acoustic instruments. INUI 4 is a single 68 minute track, a slow building and evolving multi-layered swath of acoustic & electric guitars, electronics, and hurdy gurdy. The final 20 minutes of the track features prominent "glissando" guitar, ala Daevid Allen, a very fine sound to be lost in.

I love everything that Jack Rose did! This album is probably his most "Fahey" inspired albums that he did. It even includes a version of Fahey's "Sun Flower River Blues". Very much in Fahey's style with the extra strength and attack that Rose always adds. This is a must for Fahey/Rose fans and anyone who collects American Primitive Guitar albums. jsandstrum
I dont know why as ive loved both bands for many moons but now that I made the connection between FSA and The Dead C its seems so incredibley obvious . Throw Jim O' Rourke into the mix and this ep is truely essential tri_repetae
The pulsing industrial sounds on the wonderfully brutal new LP from Tokyo group Rinsaga will be catnip for the black-glove-and-mesh set. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 15, 2022
The music on “Sun Spar” defies easy categorization, whirling elements of drone, country, and classical into a head-spinning mix. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 4, 2022
